Delray Beach, Florida - Ensquared.com the number one authority in phone insurance on the Internet has experienced continued growth in both iPhone Insurance and Android Phone Insurance Sales via it's online and affiliate sales channels during the first quarter of 2011 (1Q11). Insurance sales numbers for the Apple iPhone increased by 7% compared with insurance for Android powered handsets, which grew by an impressive 17%.

"We have seen demand emanate from Verizon Wireless users seeking iPhone Insurance and of course owners of the ever popular open source, Android powered devices such as the HTC Thunderbolt, Inspire and Samsung Galaxy," said CEO Gordon Polovin.

"We always knew the next wave of Internet growth would take place via the Smartphone and the results are speaking for themself- this market is only going to grow over the next 5 years and we at Ensquared are so excited," added Polovin.

Ensquared is able to provide iPhone Insurance for all Black & White iPhone 4 models on both the AT&T and Verizon networks in the United States. Ensquared iPhone Insurance covers Lost, Stolen and Accidental Damage (Spills and Drops). In addition, Ensquared covers all Android powered devices including the latest LTE models via its Android Phone Insurance products.

The results reported and observed by Ensquared are consistent with the latest data according to research firm IDC. IDC have reported that worldwide mobile phone market grew by 19.8% compared with the previous year (1Q10 Vs 1Q11). According to the folks at IDC, the reason for this impressive growth is the increased uptake of smartphones, fuelled by challenger gains and emerging markets.

When Ensquared observes the data in this report, it has found that in the United States, Apple's iPhone and the LTE-enabled HTC Thunderbolt were two smartphones introduced at Verizon Wireless that helped keep the category front and center of the overall mobile phone market. Similarly, in Canada, the market grew thanks to smartphones. BlackBerry, iPhone, and Android devices were best sellers.

Despite it's popular growth it should be noted that Apple now occupies only 5% of the worldwide handset market share. These numbers equate to 18.7 million handsets shipped compared with Nokia who shipped 108 million handsets and who still occupy the largest world wide market share with 29.2% as at end 1Q11.

As we move through 2011, Ensquared.com believes sales in Apple iPhone and the Android Platform insurance will grow given the amazing momentum observed thus far. "Users are looking for the best insurance options for their handset devices since they are becoming more educated with the true replacement costs of smartphones" explained Polovin.
