Say 'GPS Navigator' and the brand Garmin immediately pops into mind. Although Garmin is undoubtedly one of the leading manufacturers of GPS navigators, there are many other brands out there that make equally good (if not better) portable GPS navigators. In this article series, we are going to take a closer look at some great alternatives to Garmin navigators.

The Navigon 7200T 4.3-Inch Portable GPS navigation device has a large 4.3-inch touch-screen that displays crisp and vibrant images. The user interface consist of large, animated icons that are very user friendly. It is one of the many features that I find to be so much better than Garmin devices.

It has a Reality View option that allows you to view realistic 3D images of the roads that you are in. It displays views of actual road signs and realistic road lanes for you to follow. There is also a Landmark View where you can see 3D pop-ups of famous landmarks around you to help you navigate. Very cool!

This model scores in the looks department too. It has a jet-black casing, measuring at just 0.7 inch thick. The Navigon 7200T 4.3-Inch Portable GPS navigation device also comes with Bluetooth connectivity where you can use the device to connect to your cell phone as a hands-free unit.

Unlike many GPS navigators in the market, the Navigon 7200T 4.3-Inch Portable GPS navigation device comes with free live traffic updates. There is a USB port and a memory card that can be used to upload additional maps and updates. It also has a voice recognition feature where you can get directions by saying the address of your destination.
